RIDDIMS CORNER
I-ditorial with 'Runnins Editor Polly Riddims

     Greetings Communnity,

Welcome to Reggae Runnins online!  For those of you who remember the zine - just trying to rebuild that more expensive way of spreading the word so in the meanwhile - just keep visiting! Please send us your writing so we can keep the website up to date.

It's time to Live Up! Reggae is spirit music. It is music with an important message about truth, rights, justice and love. Rasta is a livity - a path that you walk in the way that you live your life - naturally, with truth and love. It is an example to be honored and respected. Our youth are dependent on those role models for their education and choices they make. I know that there are plenty of you right here in Baltimore with the same vision and dreams.

So let us imagine the possibilities if we try to create all of that right here, looking within ourselves, connecting with each other, building community, and doing righteous works in a positive way. There is great potential for a wealth of culture, love and spirit right here. Baltimore sits right on the line between the North and South. Though we struggle with the continuing legacy of institutional racism and poverty in all the systems - government, schools, transportation, economic opportunity, housing - people here show a willingness and hunger to connect with each other. It is the inspiration of this music that keeps my hope alive and keeps me working.

How about you? Are you ready to Live Up? We take the responsibility to be informative and to continue to educate with the music about the history and message of One Love.
