An excellent retro set from the first new band to record for the Trojan label in thirty years! This outfit consists of former members of the Specials, the Loafers and others, and production is by Sean Flowerdew and the London-based reggae stalwart Nick Manasseh. The general sound is that of seventies reggae –just immediately prior to the roots revolution, though not excluding that, or the dub approach – with just the merest hints of jazz and soul music. The special guests lift an already fine set to even higher heights – check out the likes of Rico Rodriguez, Dennis Alcapone, Dawn Penn, Derrick Morgan, Dave & Ansel Collins, and Winston Francis & AJ Franklin.
